I've read on here that CO2 bottle have a 10 year expiry and need to get re-assessed and restamped to stay in use.

My bottle have sh!t loads of numbers / letters stamped into it all the way around the top

How do you read the date from the bottle?

This is a MKOL cylinder Kev, but I think they will all be marked in a similar fashion.
The test date is 09@10

Does the 09@10 mean SEP 2010 ?

The stamps on mine are

TW2.82KG EW3.43KG GC6-71899/04
DOT-AL1800 X127076 LUXFER 03A05 AIR-UP

Does that 03A05 mean March 2005 ?

I'm on to it B)

05 was about when I got the bottle so it makes sense.

Also my other one (my kegs on legs) is 09 using the same code, which is also when I got that one.

09@10 is a date stamp considering its under paint it most probably manufacturer test stamp. Test stamps should with a testers mark, which would the @ like mark. Some secondary testing these days have the test stamp highlighted with a coloured paint so it is easier to find.

So, good idea to swap it just before it needs testing - if you own your tank?
