So I started a standard Cider brew a month or so ago,
fresh local, unpasteurised juice,

things happened and I forgot about it until last night. STill under airlock in my usual plastic fermenter
It's beginning to go brown though, I can;t confirm if the batch had absoribic acid added when juicing though.

Doesn't taste bad or particularly any different, just looks dark.

should I bother bottling or just dump it.

how long has it been in fermenter?
turning brown is oxidation? does the fermenter have a good seal?

was it just juice and yeast?

Its not just starting to clear is it? The juice will go lighter in colour with the yeast in suspension then appear to darken as the yeast drops and the juice colour starts to show through.

Or it could be starting to oxidise. If it tastes OK though (no sherry notes) it may just be clearing.

If it is oxidising, drink it quick.

Cheers
Dave

Yeah been in over 4 weeks now.
I was nearly fermented out after 6 days when I last checked it.

This fermenter does have a good seal, Airlock was still under pressure,
I have one of my 3 that's only good for using to prime and transferr with.

Yep, just Apple juice and yeast (Lavlin-71B)

It's very clear already.

I might just bottle it and see what happens.
All my brews lighten up a lot once bottled and carbed

here you can see the Orange Pippin juice in the clear fermenter (no vitamin c added to juice), and the result in the glass

Thew white fermenter behind is the one with my browning brew in it
