Hi everybody ive recently joined the forum, im from stirlingshire scotland and hoping to get some brewing tips
 
Much of the discussion of IPAs on this site focuses on maximizing hop aroma in American West Coast and New England versions, not the less hop-forward English ones. There has been a resurgence of interest in Continental lagers, much of it a usually polite debate over pressure brewing.

But none of that means members aren't brewing most other styles. They probably are, but are for the most part happy with their products.

Dark beer brewing declines a bit in summer here, something reflected in the makeup of malt orders at shops.

In any event feel free to ask, comment, and toast your mates down under.
 
Here's a Porter I've brewed multiple times over the last 10 years or so. Lovely malty brew. 25 litre batch.
Water additions are for my local water. Adjust as needed for your water.

The 40 litre London water might be some clue? I did suggest as needed.
I adjust mine to London water as shown in BeerSmith 3.
The original water profile is from before I moved 8 years ago to my current place.
