Found this at the local market ;)

Nice find, should be perfect to use with BIAB as it will shred the husk of the grain, meaning a very fine crush.

Cheers

Also works OK in a mash tun with false bottom, depending on how you set the crush. Have used one for a while but now upgraded to the millmaster as I urgently needed more bling in my brewery.

Did you also get the hopper with it? Should be fairly simple to make one up out of a juice bottle or something anyway.

no hopper :( i was thinking maybe some pvc plumbing bits but maybe even a juice bottle ;)

It's a corona/victoria type model and crushes grain fine for whatever equipment you are using. Crush plates are adjustable. I've been using one for the last two years - esky tun with home made copper manifold.

Hey tones.
I presume you got that from the rotary market?
I was also looking at them when I was there. For the money, I was going to get one just so I wouldn't have to fire up the MM3 for steeping if I was ever to do a partial.

If you ever need to mill a large amount, let me know and we'll run it through the monster.

Did you end up doing the BIAB the other day?

it's a mincer used in the kitchen for mincing meat,vegies,fruit,etc.......cheers....spog.....

Although it might look a bit similar to a mincer, it is actually a mill. Trying to mince with that one would create a real mess, with meat coming out all around the crush plates, if you actually get it minced with them that is.

Yes the old "Spong" brand mincers have a fairly large "bell" on the top where you cram the meat in. No kitchen, up till the 1950s, was complete without one. Aldi had a version for sale a couple of weeks ago for around $30.

I was going to say the same thing until I spotted the grinding plates at the front.
