Hey Guys and Gals,
I'm in the process of building a bar and thought I would document it and share some pics for everyone to have a look.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to put it but i guess the mods can move it if the don't want it here.
The story so far is I get bored with things too quickly and need new hobbies to keep me busy so bar build was next on the list (not going to get bored of beer :chug: ) . With only having about 80% support from SWMBO the bar couldn't be "too big" and funding came from selling my 4ft marine aquirium which I built about 2 years ago.
So to start I did a rough sketch at work and came up with some dimensions of what would look alright and be pratical without being "too big".
Then after the tank sold I did a bit of ebay shopping and bought my kegs, taps, font etc. and picked up a bar fridge from gumtree for the kegs. Then it was off to bunnings for some timber.
Here is the frame that me and a mate knocked up in the arvo. Good start but I later had to add to it later to give it a bit more strength.
BTW NAIL GUNS ROCK!!! :super:
Then another trip to bunnings to get more timber and that kep me busy for another day.
The top is still wrapped and just sitting there in these photos.
Another day in the office and I got the top done.
This weekend the plan is to to the trims done and putty and sand, then next weekend should be staining.
The funniest thing is after being told not to make it too big I tried to get the frame in the house and there is no way its fitting through any doors or windows, so the plan is to remove the non sliding part of my sliding doors and get it in through there. Looks easy enough but I guess we'll have to just wait and see. Who know I might end up with an outdoor bar yet.
