Thats right, my first ever attempt at an AG brew was a sweet stout. So how did it go, well in two words VERY GOOD! Started at 9ish and finished at 1ish. But, there were a few hicups, the first being I added about 5 litres too much of water to the boil and when chilling using my awesome chiller i spilt some water..... And thats it!

I havent worked out how to copy recipes from beersmith yet but here are some pics,

Congratulations Scotty on your first ag brew. Bet you were glad you didn't brew yesterday in the heat.

So what will the next brew be?

Congratulations

Did you end up with a larger final volume or just do a longer boil? How did your efficiency turn out? To post beersmith recipes just copy and paste from the 'preview window', before you open the recipe.

Lets see some pics of this awesome chiller :)

The volume was fine, forgot to check efficiency. oh well. I would like to do a pils or lager next. Just got to make some adjustments to the brewery first.

Scotty,
You have really jumped into the deep end. First Chocolate Milk Stout then pils next.
I guess you have done a few kits or extracts? Just remember a lager really should be fermented around the 10 degree C mark.

cheers
Darren

Well done Scotty.
Did you fire up the other equipment as well for a double brew day ?

Beers,
Doc

Do you mean the natural oil extractor? No thats tomorrow, lol.

Well done Scotty - always good to see someone come through their first AG unscathed...

Cos i found out that i added too much water the SG was low but that didnt matter cos i did not want it really alcoholic. Its all a learning process i guess.
