did a brew the other day where I re -used yeast from another brew .
The yeast was only about a day old.
I usually use about 500 ml of yeast off a previous batch and leave in fridge for a bit.
I pour off the water that sits on top ...this time I didn't , the water on top had not formed yet.
It started fine and all that.
Now it seems to have sort of stopped.
Usually all the foam on top dissapears after a week.
This time however , it is still sitting on top.
Probably a cm ( if that )brown bubbles .
OG was 1050 and is now 1010 , so that seems ok.
The temp has been a fair bit lower than normal. It has sat on approx 18 for 10 days.

Have I over pitched? or is this normal.

Sounds normal to me. Sometimes my krausen sits around for ages, even after cc-ing. Once you're sure its finished drop the temp as close to zero as you can, that should make the krausen drop out. But even if it doesn't it won't affect anything if the beer is finished.

It is just the old nick JD aussie draught .
Made it a fair few times now....stock for my easter mates that will no doubt pop in uninvited.
