Hi again,

So my Kegerator arrived today :D
This has lead to a couple of questions;

Firstly, it came with 2 of these:
STEEL KEG COUPLER FOR CUB BARRELL

which I'm guessing are useless to the 19L Cornelius kegs? For them, do I need to get 2x beer and gas ball lock disconnects? (I have 2 kegs)
Also, the end of the beer line from the taps have connectors that screw into the couplers I got. To use the 19L kegs, do I just need to cut them off and clamp the line to the above disconnects?
Does anyone know where in Perth I can get a gas line divider??

Oh..And lastly, I bought 2 19L "reconditioned" kegs from Bootleg Homebrew in Maddington, took them to U-brew-it, and they told me that they hadn't had the o-rings replaced and they needed to be done. Not really a problem, but quite annoying given that they are selling them as reconditioned kegs. Does anyone have any recommendations for buying 2nd hand kegs in Perth?? I'm going to get 2 more at some stage.

Thanks :)

In answer to your questions 1, 2 & 3.

Contact Ross at craftbrewer on the above links and he will help you out.

Cheers FROGMAN.....

I got same setup, it's currently set for commercial kegs.

get rid of all the junk and replace all the beer line and fittings with quick disconnects to hook up to your cornies,

you'll basically need about 3m of beer line, beer/gas disconnect, gas bottle and the line clamps. that's it!

I got my 2nd hand kegs from Ross at Craftbrewer along with the o-ring replacement kit. If you get 4 kegs at once you get free delivery and the replacement kits.

Not sure why your place call them reconditioned - was it even cleaned out? I guess they probably pulled the posts apart and then put them back on. The ones from Ross are checked to see if they hold pressure and that's about it, all mine had syrup in the bottom. All my parts have either come from Ross or GMK as I found the local prices were far too high. For local places check www.westcoastbrewers.com on the links page. You might get lucky that they'll have what you are after TWOC Brewing in Bibra Lake probably has everything you need (it's in the Stock Road Markets). I'll hopefully be going there this weekend to get some bulk LDME.

Brewmart prices are quite high compared to TWOC, Westbrew in Osborne park isn't too bad and maybe closer to you. Either way, call them first to check they have the stock and parts you need before making the trek.

Rad. Thanks for the input :)

I called Craftbrewer, but didn't get to talk to Ross because he was busy, but the guy was very helpful, and after doing some price comparisons, they were cheaper even with the shipping costs so I've ordered hopefully everything I need :) Those line splitters they have look pretty funky :)

Maybe Bootleg just made sure they held pressure and they weren't actually reconditioned and I got mixed up. Oh well. It's done now, and I know where to get my bits if I need them! Thanks again for all the help!

Get yourself,
2 of these, http://www.craftbrewer.com.au/shop/details.asp?PID=731
2 of these, http://www.craftbrewer.com.au/shop/details.asp?PID=730
4 of these, http://www.craftbrewer.com.au/shop/details.asp?PID=744
I would definately recommend protecting you're regulator with 1 of these, http://www.craftbrewer.com.au/shop/details.asp?PID=738
or 2 of them if you have two lines coming from a duel regulator, like mine, http://www.kegsonline.com.au/prod8.htm
& whatever beer line you need. I would also grab yourself another 19l keg for filtering if you intend to filter from keg to keg with CO2.
Cheers,
Brian

It was probably Anthony (Mothballs on AHB) and he is just a knowledgeable as Ross about brewing... you cant go wrong with who ever you speak to there.

To save on freight, just buy their 4 keg deal, with free delivery. They will stuff all your bits into one of your kegs. Well that's what I told my wife when another 4 kegs lobbed on the door step. :D

Thanks Crusty,

That's about what I ordered, but he told me I needed the barb disconnects for the beer lines if I chose not to replace the beer lines on the font that came with the kegerator. The JG connectors look really good :)

Wish I'd thought of the keg idea ;)

Thanks again everyone!

Make sure you get a hose clamp for the barb connect (beer out). I was told not to worry, but the connection began to leak.
