Alright had og reading of 1.004, pretty sure had finished carbonating, recycled bottles(pet coopers styles) cleaned and sanitised thoroughly brand new caps.

2 weeks were fine, 4-5 weeks mark now have gushes.

Have been stored under house, so temps wouldn't have been high.

May have shaken a tiny bit but were in fridge for 48 hours before opening.

Likely causes?

Ironically I have a ginger beer bottled and store under same conditions and is completely flat when bottled at same time.

Just used 1 carbonation drop per instructions and 1kg of dextrose.

HELP LOL.

I would suspect it hadn't finished, 1.004 for a cider is still pretty high, I'd expect .998.

If they are PET, you can let out some gas and re-tighten. Best done after chilling overnight. Before you do though - Brigalow kits have artificial sweetener from memory so 1.004 might be OK. Juice based cider, no additives should hit 1.000 or below. Are you opening these super cold and they are still gushing?

My fridge is a bit sh!!!t at the moment needs replacing so about 5 degrees I'd say.

Have poured over carbed beer into a jug of flat beer and that seems to work but needs to be very cold could try letting some decarb slowly.
