doing one of those brewers selection czech pilsners with s-23 yeast.
put in about 24 hrs ago an so far nothing happening.
I was told to keep it between 18 -12 dgrs..which it is.

Never used this yeast before ...is this normal for it to be doing nothing so far?

Fairly normal when on the low side of the temperature range. You may have some small signs (condensation on inner side of the lid) that things have started happening but don't be concerned if you don't see anything for a little while longer.

I strongly recommend you drop it down to 10-12C, if you can. S-23 doesn't like temperatures above that.

ok cheers.

just took the blanket off and turned off the heat pad...and put the fermenter on the cold concrete floor.

I recently put one of these down and it is delicious, mine fermented at around 14 degrees and took about two weeks.

Nice drop.
