Thomas Coopers Heritage Lager
300g sucrose (normal sugar)
1kg LDME
100g steeped carapils malt (optional)
made upto 23L

US05 at 18-20degC or Danish Lager 2042 at 10degC

Could also boil some POR flowers in some malt for 30mins to give it a bit extra but I am sure your mate won't notice.

You could bottle up some flood water and serve him that....

Hey Rover that was pretty harsh but very funny .

Hard to resist. Not sure of the hops used in Crownies but it is noted for its malt flavour. A lightly hoped extract would be a good way to go. I would use Hersbrucker most likely with just the one bittering addition.l As I siad very light hopping.

I am sure someone will know which hop to use..

Cheers..

In my limited experience any euro hops tend to make the beer taste too floral for an Oz style. If aiming for an Aussie lager stick with the basic TC kit or anything based on POR.

Beermakers Munich Lager
1kg Dextrose
500g LME

Compliments from my LHBS

According to their website:

Crown Lager is brewed using only the best barley and Pride of Ringwood hops.
The result is a creamy fruitiness, with a rich malty mid-palate and a crisp, clean finish.

In their advertising they boast that it isn't another Euro Lager.
Really the only way to emulate it is all grain, but a good extract attempt would be:

2.5 kg light dried malt extract
500g dextrose

25g Pride of Ringwood pellets boiled with some of the malt for 30 minutes

Wyeast Danish Lager Yeast

Ferment for two weeks at around 13 degrees, lager for a week at zero in the fridge. Serve cold.
