FWIW, I bought one of the regulators listed above from Pinnacle. It seems to be doing the job. I don't appear to have any leaking CO2. And I was able to speak to someone relatively local (regional VIC) when I was looking to buy it...

LOL......I love it when the Philadelphia lawyers get a roll on.
As for the apple barrel and the lube, that`s an old custom dating {no pun intended :( } back to the old sailing ship days :D

when buying a motorcycle, you'll always go for Japanese over Taiwanese, then Taiwanese over Chinese. Why is this? because most people know that 75% of stuff manufactured in China is cheap crap that isn't built to last.

I think you're being a little generous there quantocks. I woulda said 99.5%

Sorry for bumbing this "cheap crappy" thread guys. Can we all relax and have a homebrew :D

There is a lot of top quality merchandise made in China. Sadly, it just doesn't make it out here because every buyer for the stores (electronics, clothes, etc) keeps trying to drive the buy price down. Ask to buy at a lower price in China and you will get lower quality - it's that simple.

Here's a top example: a mate of mine imports ironing boards. He was buying for US$2.50. He negotiated hard to US$2. The quality difference in what he received meant he had to ditch a 40 foot container load. Why? The steel used was so flimsy that most of the boards collapsed under normal operating conditions.

For the OP: We like to know what quality is and when it's on offer. What most of us don't like is when one supplier says bad things about another. It's pretty much an unspoken rule in business that no matter how bad that other guy is that you say nothing about him but just keep pointing out the advantages in your goods, not the defects in the other guy's product.

Cheers - Fermented.

I am just telling you the truth. If Australian don't like to hear truth.I am sorry. Some dealers in Australian buy cheap but bad quality products from China to sell in Australia.People bought such products and got the impression that all products from China are of bad quality.Very unfair for us

The Kegmate is also made in China, instead of Australia.

So what products are you selling or suggesting we buy ?

The unwritten rule gets broken all the time...remember the Duracell bunnies...even that was misleading comparing to Eveready instead of Energiser...

The problem I see with this thread is not that kegexpert is infroming us about his competitors, but that kegexpert is then not giving us an alternative item (i.e. his "top quality" one) as a means of comparison...

Another tip for kegexpert, bugger-all gets made in Australia...we import most of the products we use.

 and therein lies the problem....which is exactly what leads us straight back to the lube & apple barrel

Nothing like a bit of good old fashioned hate to keep the forum interesting

No hate here yet sinkas, least not from me. Pbrosnan won't be sending me a christmas card, but I'm pretty sure he knows to play the ball, not the man. We're none of us above the odd knee in the tackle, though, are we?

Certainly no hate anywhere, from what I see.
I was a bit mystified at that comment, too.
