Great - just what you want to hear about the guy setting up the AHB shirt bulk buy.. very suspicious...
Just send your money to him. Shirts in the post..

For anything of value, registered post (for the extra $2.70) is well worth the effort and saves any 'lost in the post' excuses/reasons, or any damage caused in transit.

+1, always, where possible, will use registered post for goods. makes life that little bit easier.

That`s very interesting. But is it the case that mods. are actually able to read pm`s from one member to another?
Doesn`t appear to be any mods. on line at the mo for a definite answer.

stagga.

When you post a PM on this site, like any other forum, that text is included in the database that is owned by Member No.1. If he knows where to look, he can search that database and find the relevant text contained in it, but not in the format of the actual PM.

It is then up to member No.1 who he gives permissions to on the forum, as to what they can see. Mods usually only have moderation rights in each of their chosen parts of the forum. They or may not have access to the ACP etc etc...

No, Mods are not able to access your PM's - I had this clarified from up top a while back when one of the Mod's was claiming he had access to PM's.
The text can be recovered by the administrators if required, but it's not a straight forward process.

That's correct. Moderators can only see and edit/delete posts, and then only in forums/sub-forums to which they have been explicitly granted access. PMs, as schooey pointed out, are only accessible to Admins, ie Doc and dane, who have access to the backend database.

In any case, you should never trust PMs any more than you would trust email for private correspondence. There are lots of hops between your browser and the recipient's.

EDIT: to put it into context of the OP's question, it's possible for lots of information to be retrieved about the member if needed. Not sure if just a simple request from the cops would do, or if a court order was necessary, but things like IP addresses for members, text of PMs and such could probably be retrieved. Best to ask an admin if it's going to go this far.

How long is to long from postage from NSW to VIC.
Its now been 10 days from when they were supposedly posted.

Am I being to quick to judge?

Have you checked whether the sender used normal Australia Post or some type of trackable postal service? 10 days is too long for normal Australia post deliveries.

I could walk to NSW in 10 days. ok maybe not. I recon 10 days is plenty if they have said the've posted it. althought we have had a public holiday in the last 2 weeks. so that takes it down to 9 days minus weekends, so 5 days. thats still plenty. but maybe give them till Monday. depends on how much $ of goods were talking about and whether it was regular post of express satchel

In my book it's down to the seller to make good delivery, unless the buyer has agreed for the goods to be sent by regular mail without liabillity.
If the goods get lost & the seller hasn't taken appropriate steps to register or insure, then that's his/her loss.

Ross

I bought a fridgemate and two thermometers of you, paid and recieved the following day.
Overnight from QLD, thats what makes me a bit suss on this postage.
I get it overnight from you but havent got it in 10 days from NSW.

I think I may stick with getting my stuff from you from now on.

Sounds like some of you guys are worried about what you send in your PMs

Not writing naughty things are we??

Absolutely. The seller has contracted to deliver the goods; non delivery is not the buyers responsibillity, unless the seller gave him the option of insured delivery & it was declined.

Only about PostModern.

If you haven't thought of this already, can I suggest that maybe (big maybe), the parcel arrived and the postie left a "postage holding note" in your letterbox and you just missed it? This happened to me once - the note slipped in between some junk mail that got binned, so I never knew the parcel had arrived. After 7 days, it got returned to sender. Maybe your parcel is on its way back to your supplier......

Cheers - Snow

So it was a retailer, not just Joe Blow?

i think Reg was just saying that he'll buy from a retailer rather than privately. I could be wrong. If it was a retailer though id expect Reg would have had recourse other than asking AHB. He had an invoice or something i would have thought.
