lay some mesh down on your lawn, car, gate whatever. then hook up a car battery or few then when the little rat ******* touches the metal..... you get the point. car battery has a low enough ampage that it wont seriously hurt him. if of course you want to make sure about that you could invest in a proper electric fence control module.
heaps of chilli in water + water pitsol and spray away at him. or fish sauce. make him stink!
or of course you can set up a video camera looking out over your property ans try and catch them doing something illegal. then take it to the cops. you then have leverage over them.
+1 for teaching your kids self defence. nothing would hurt a young boy's pride more than being dropped by a girl.
