Sorry guys but I left my CPBF at goliaths when i did the mash demo and then on the brewday at my place i was all to drunk to even remember to just bottle some straight from the keg.
So bigd doesn't have any beer with him from me.
I have still promised GL some for the dancin days lyrics so that will be posted one day simon.
Again sorry guys, i'll drink some for you hows that?
anyway hope your day goes well

Cheers Jayse

Hmmm..... When I first guessed the lyrics he pretended he didnt have computer access anymore and stopped posting for a few months. Now he tries to wriggle out again. I swear I'll get a bottle of his finest if I have to fly to bloody Adelaide and steal it.

No worries Jayse, between JasonY and me there will be a few SFPA copies there on the day. I have four different vintages with the oldest being 8 months old.

After reading the recent ag brewing thread I figure we have to brew on the day so I'm planning on doing an ESB that I have the bits ready for. Those interested in the process note that the valley mill will need turning at about 12 pm, for a dough in about 12:30 to 1:00. At about 3 to 4pm I will give everyone present 5 to 10 g of Goldings pellets. Over the last 30 mins of the boil you decide when to chuck yours in. If you like more IBUs chuck em in early. If you like aroma chuck em in late. And note that whatever the result, I'll be bringing a few bottles to the next Perth gathering and making you drink it, so you better get it right. It will be a 30 l batch, split and fermented with 1275 and 1968.

Hopefully Big D will be back in fighting condition for the day. Anyone in Perth spoken to him, dont know if he got the PM with address details?

Sounds good, Simon. I will happily throw EKG at your boil and maybe learn as we go.

Jayse, I am shattered. Will learn to slowly move on in life but it won't be the same.

Bigd, are you into a beer some other time as well as GL's gig? Maybe LC's one weekend arvo or in the city on a weeknight?

Bringing this to the top and reminding people about Saturday. Like I said up the front of the thread "I forgot" or "I was hungover" wont cut it.

Spoken to Big D and he knows whats happening. Should be 9 people, including one from Grumpys. The weather looks like it will be OK.

Brewing an ESB, dough in between 12 and 1pm. Volunteers to crank the mill needed in that window. The Thames Valley starter is going off, the 1968 was a bit upset about being left asleep in the fridge for 11 months, but seems to be coming to life now.

Lunch is completely under control, although someone might have to drive the bbq for me if the brewing gets complicated. Its OK, I am a kiwi and we dont get all funny about other blokes touching our barbies. Will have a few beer snacks on the go but if you have a favourite, bring it along. Will have a couple of large eskies with ice and a fridge, but if a couple of people also bring eskies we wont have any dramas with warm beer.

Had a friend who is a graphic designer round for dinner last night, she took pity on the Big Dog Brewing label and jazzed it up. So we also knocked up an agenda for the Saturday meeting, hopefully attached below. See I told you I was taking this very seriously!

See you Saturday.

I'm impressed. You've really been working on this haven't you?

Do you have a digital camera GL? Can bring one along if you don't to capture all the action. :p

Asher - you mean the "I survived Big Dog Brewing" shirts I was going to hand out as people left? Sorry, they didnt get printed in time. But the big dog himself will probably plant a dirty paw on your best t shirt if that helps.
Deebee, yeah I have. I dont often get the chance to plan something like this cos of work, which is why I cancelled the Batz world tour one. And sure enough, got a call tonight asking me to go to Indonesia. Told them to sod off, but I'll have to go soon after this weekend.
JasonY I'll be taking plenty of photos. 35 mm, so it takes a little longer to get to the web, but not that much longer.

I live just up the road, so I can bribe the wife into dropping me off, so bringing an esky isnt a drama.

I can bring my camera as well

If I get up early enough to go shopping I will bring the fabled ikan bilis that everyone went "Eeuugh" at in the favourite bar snacks thread. Will have to make it to IBS too some time. Don't fancy lugging an esky home on the train. Empty bottles will be bad enough.

I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve.

Anyone got a CD of Beer Hall um-par music
I'm bringing the party pig full of German Lager. (not mountain bike racing Sunday anymore) I hope you like munich malt...

Asher for now....

Deebee look forward to tasting the ikan bilis, can't remember exactly what was in it (maybee thats good :)). I will bring some plain old chips as they are easy.

Look forward to the party pig Asher, I have been on call for the last week so I will be very thristy ! :chug:

Will have to bring an esky with some keg filled bottles and some bottle conditioned stocks ...

GL,

Should we bring glasses?

For drinking, not reading.

Not unless you are attached to a particular style. I have about 24 500 ml tumblers which means you can have two glasses each if we are doing serious taste comparisons.

Looks like I am the first to post post-party so sorry about thisstill very drunk and rehydrating as I type with a nonic of h2o next to me after a great afternevening at the home of the guest lurker. Fan-friggen-tastic time with no steps broken and some very memorable brews tasted and an AG demo (an ESB from memory, at least I know I threw 10g of EKG at the boil about 10 mins from flameout) and very hospitable hospitality from Simon and Fleur not to mention Dallas, Montana and Texas (best in class). Fine guacamole, wasabi broad beans and posh sossies in rolls with sauerkraut and HP sauce. Goats Marzen, GLs Skunk Fart, Ashers German Lager stand out in the memory. John Hs lager was fully respectable. There was also a nice porter and a delicious oatmeal stout (who made them, sorry cant remember??). In fact I didnt taste a bad beer all day. Nice also to clear the stocks of my formidable Benadryl Expectorant Ale and the last of Old Smoky Ale. Will never forget the pure genius of GLs immersion chiller, the design of which is based solely around chaos theory and quantum mechanics. Stop laughing!

Good to see Bigd doing his annual rounds of the faithful, a little like St Paul visiting the Mediterranean churches of the first century. Keep the faith bigD and fight for whats right. Thanks for the Amarillo hops and enjoy that Munich lager!

Gee whiz guys this is the go. (Other capital cities, do you have the passion?!?!) From the humble beginnings of an internet forum to various intra-national pockets of enthusiasm, keen, bright-eyed and rosy-cheeked crowds of home brewers tasting, sampling and getting drunk together, we really have something good going here. BE PROUD! Looking forward to seeing those photos especially Simon posed provocatively in front of two fermenters, midriff bared, pouting for the camera.

And thanks to Asher and his significant other (sorry drunk and forgetting names) for the lift home.

I love youse all.

Deebee

DON"T THINK - FEEEEEL!

Congratulations to all the WA contingent on a successful day and your report is excellent Deebee.
I think we are all on a roll with the Qld guys organising a meet as well as the NSW fellas making noises in that area as well.
I can see a national get together in the future.
Cheers

Can I just say. My immersion chiller is based on sound scientific principles and I think you will find that it achieved an appropriate wort temperature within the required timeframe. I fully enjoyed the exchange of views and beers and we should do it again soon. When we pick the venue, you can be sure I will bring the results of tonight's brewing.

Good to hear the WA Chapter had a great get together, I agree with the artist formally known as BBB, an Australian wide hook up of AHBers would be the ultimate highlight.
