Just got mine in the fermenter, didn't have any rye so went:

4.7 JWM Ale
0.62 JWM Wheat
0.21 Crystal 60L
0.25 Light Munich
0.21 CaraPils

25gm Willamette - FWH
25gm Northern Brewer - 60
25gm Fuggle - 15
25gm Fuggle - 1

Will dry hop with 20gm Fuggle in secondary.

OG: 1064
IBU: 61
WLP001 California Ale.

First stab at an IPA, looking forward to it. Hope everyone had an enjoyable brew day. Time for an Aventinus.

Cheers

Yoluo can get flaked rye at any "healthfood" shop or wholefood place.

I used flaked rye, 750g, much more flavor than malted rye

Yes things went pretty well around here, that is untill kai got his camera out and sat in waitng for me to do silly things.
I have a vague memory of scooping the spent grain out the tun and tipping it on top of myself, this morning the memory was backed up by the fact that my brew gear is covered in the spent mash and has caught the attention of some pigeons. Don't asked me why i guess you had to be there.
Iam pretty sure theres more pics of me doing strange things then there is of anything brew related, which i'll blame on the fact the beer was going down extremely well and the weather was lovely.

Thanx to the handfull of brewers that came around and helped me celebrate.
Ozdevil managed to just about knock me out when my head and a six pack of LCPA came to blows, don't ask how we managed that.
All told i can't find any perment damage anywhere and only one broken glass(ozdevil again) the cool room was the third thing in line for destruction when oz retrived a beer and managed to knock the door off.
Anyway i had a great day and the brew was on its way to the chiller on time.

Tried another one of my stubbies of this beer over last weekend.
It has really settled down to ans awesome beer now. The hops have mellowed out somewhat and it is much smoother.
I thought it would take a while to mellow out as I tried it over the last few months.
Can really taste the rye malt in much more now also. Big beer for me.
I can see myself making one very similar in the future.
Thanks to Ray for the inspiration.
