Hi all I have been trying to post a recipe from beersmith but when I copy paste it it comes out in a horizontal veiw very hard to read

Have noticed every body posts there recipes in the verticle veiw

I could achieve this but dont wish to type it all out

I think the problem is the recipe I paste is too large as it is verticle when I copy it.

Can anyone point a computer illiterate cook in the right direction

cheers rude

Not sure if I'm helping here, but highlight the recipe you're after (don't open it) and make sure 'text' is chosen in the little drop down box at the top where all the buttons are, then right click in the recipe preview down the bottom and hit 'select all' then right click there again and choose 'copy', then come here and paste :)

hope it helps

Now, to test if my instructions work for me at least :D

I've noticed that sometimes it does funny things....sometimes it pastes correctly, other times it doesn't (doing it like sammus, btw. And same way each time). No idea why it does it....very wierd thing.
one workaround...paste into notepad, then copy it again. Then paste into your post.

Thanks for the reply sammus its one of my recipes cant find the drop down box
I clicked on the recipe without opening it but will keep serching cheers

found it will keep working through this one cheers

It's not BeerSmith that's the problem but your settings in AHB, Go to "my controls" then "Board settings" then select Rich Text Editor in the "Type of text editor to use when posting" field.
Depending on the browser and version your using this should solve the problem, oh and do a ctrl+F5 to refresh.
Hope that works for you, it did for me.

Not sure if that is the problem, just checked mine and it is set to standard editor and I have never had a problem posting recipes.

Cheers

As I said, it will depend on the browser and version you are using.

This is how mine have always come out for some reason.....Damn annoying.

There is an easy way to make sure all the columns and stuff line up. What you need to do is export the recipe as text, open it in notepad and copy what you need, then paste it in the editor here and throw the whole recipe in code tags (the little scroll with the green plus icon) rte_code_button.png - it is then regarded as plain text and won't be formatted or affected by the browser you have.
