I reckon I can build on for about $50-80, but not sure how it would go for my BIAB set up.

If your building one that cheap I'm in! That rims stick is $250

That is what you want:
-temp indication as close to the element as possible, between the element and outlet
-air will rise away from the element, preventing hot spots in the element (remaining liquid filled)

Top marks.

Yeh I use one like that on my pilot system. Custom made of course. Cost me around $200 though I suppose.

3.6kw Threaded Stainless Steel element.
PID for control and box to mount with SSR and wiring.
Rims tube and fittings. (Stainless camlocks)

Building a monster for the micro brewery to. 18kw and TC fittings. PIMP.

Cheers

If I go ahead I'll post the parts list.

I'm thinking I'll use this for mash and then gas for boil. Best of both I'm hoping.

Is that $200 for just the stick or for element etc as well?

Also what width pipe is the baby one?

Yeh around $200 for the whole lot.

120 Tube 52 Element 38 Controller 5 Probe extension 215 Total

The Stainless pipe is actually in sections. You can adjust the height be adding more sections or taking them out. Easy to clean. I've never separated mine in about 100 brews.
Theres a quote attached at the bottom.

You can get elements off ebay but these ones from Nev in Perth i've found to be the best. They have a better coating on them.

Then a PID controller with SSR. around 25A

Also a probe extension to get the probe closer to the element.

That should get you on the right track.

Cheers
Matty.

You'll need a recirculation pump as well. I throttle the outlet of the RIMs tube with a ball valve, this ensures the element is always covered. Have the tube upright as well.

I use the keg king mag drive pumps. About $70 from craft brewer.
