Years, (and years) ago, a few mates and I did the whole young man right of passage thing and took a cruise on that rusty hulk 'Fairstar' to Port Vila via Noumea.
The first two days out it stormed relentlessly, and though not as dramatic as that, were still rough as guts.
Although I don't really get sea sick, plenty on board did.
I tell ya, those poorly ventilated lower decks had the stench of vomit / antiseptic upon them for days.
 
There are heaps of videos out there of similar things. Cant imagine what this must have been like on the inside

Wonder why it took two years to surface. British Cross Channel ferries have tables and chairs bolted down.
 
Try the Tasmania Boat,its travels every night/day..in all sorts of weather..we was on it 4weeks ago with waves over the bow...beer was cold was what counted,and thats bad mangement from P/O not having its stuff secured
