Ive read a bit about racking on this site an others but I still have one question, do I need an airlock for the racking container?

Short answer, No.
You should be racking pretty close to final gravity, so there should be very little fermenting left to be done.
However, there may still be some CO2 produced so it's a good idea to ensure you release the cap periodically (if your racking vessel is a jerry can or similar) or keep the seal a little loose if you rack to a fermenter.
