Aluminium Pipe

Hey Guy's,

Thinking of making a pipe manifold rather than using a stainless steel braid for my next mash tun (40L), found some aliminium pipe at work and was wondering if it's of to use or should i just go and buy some copper?

No problem with it if you're not planning to use caustic or something abrasive to clean it. My system uses Al vessels exclusively with no il effects/problems.

What would you recomend for cleaning it then, just soapy hot water ?

PBW with non abrasive substitutes eg.sponge, chux etc.

I use soapy hot water and a plastic pot scrubber scrubby pad. I have used PBW in the past but that stuff is so expensive that I save it for PITA cleaning jobs like glass carboys and kegs.
