I tried calling them today and couldnt get an answer, perhaps I mssed them at lunch, last I spoke to them they were havving trouble with their supplier and I havnt got a call back, not terribly surprised about that, between us we still probably dont register very high on their priority lists.

Awesome man

3 parts sodium perc + 1 part Sodium met make a backyard PBW...

I now have 25kg sodium perc (74.6%) + 8.5kg (25.4%) sodium met and will mix as per Yob's recipe - Post #1

I am happy to offer a pre-mixed product to anyone not yet in the BB, as I don't believe I will be using 33.5kg of PBW any time soon, just PM me.

So, I'm glad I read that before I tried it with 1/2 bag of perc. Curious now, why wouldn't PBW do the same thing?...

Ah... PBW would use the anhydrous form of sodium metasilicate (Na2SiO3), whereas we (I think) are purchasing the pentahydrate form (Na2SiO3*5H2O). My poorly informed guess is that the perc is reacting with the available water molecules in the met to oxidise the container walls.

Separate bags then. And may need to use a bit more met to compensate for the fact that our met is ~42% water.

FWIW I too pre-mixed a portion of the two parts from the last BB. Strictly on a visual basis the reactivity of the pre-mixed was clearly diminished compared to the unmixed. This being based on the amount of gas produced once the chemicals were mixed with water.

I'll second "pre-mixed" comments above. I too, premixed a small amount & noticed that it went hard in the container & the reactivity diminished over time compared to the freshly-mixed stuff I first made-up. I now keep them separate & mix as required.
