    Motorising A Mill

I've got a mashmaster mill and run it with a GMC drill. Works ok as long as you dont load it up too much, then you just get smoke and a buzzing noise. Its a hell of a lot better than using the hand crank. That is for suckers. I have considered doing the whole motor and gearing setup but for...

Grain Through To Kettle - Detrimental?

BIAB, HERMS, gravity whatever, unless you boil kettle or fermeher looks like porridge you wont have anything to worry about. As for the BIAB (not that I do it) I'd guess you'd have less issues unless you split the bag or spill some.

Split Batch - Weizen & Witbier

Did a similar thing myself but used a 50/50 blend of unmalted wheat and JW Pale, the unspiced half got the Wyeast 1098 and was dryhopped with Amarillo and Simcoe. I think I prefer it to the Witt

    Quick Sodastream Question

I had the same sealing problem with a soda stream bottle adaptor a few years ago. Turned out the nameless home brew shop forgot to send me the seal (little white washer) that I needed to seal the thing off. Check you have the seal, otherwise you'll just empty bottles and piss yourself off

Speidels Braumeister. Impressive Yes. Expensive Yes.

I like the look of this thing, shiny and precision german made, just a bit on the expensive side. All its lacking is a built in chiller.

    Mashing Whole Wheat?

Sid you'll need to crack it to let the enzymes from your malt barley in to do their job. Going to fine isnt a problem except that you could get a stuck sparge so throw in some rice hulls (about 250-500g for 4-6 kg of grain)

    Yeasty Question

Go the krausen pitch or pitch another packet of yeast, both should work and are cheap. Also try rousing the fermenter, cant do any harm. One question are you only uising the airlock as a sign of fermentation? if so it may just be a problem with your seals. If you are gettin a good foam on top...

    Using Triticale

If you want cheap Triticale and have acess to a stock feed store give them a try, most trit ends up in cows and sheep and it should be cheap.

    Using Triticale

Based on its agronomic properties it should give similar results to using a soft wheat. It is much closer to rye that wheat in all characteristics. Are you looking at malted or unmalted staggalee?
