Water Purifcation Tablets (micropur)

I'm just using wort kits and wet yeast which requires and extra 5 litres of water to be added to the fermenter. I don't want to put straight tap water, I could easily go buy some bottled water but I have a ton of Katadyn Micropur water purifcation tablets I could use, before I do though I thought I'd check to see if anyone here knows if there's any nasty chemicals or anything in the tablets that would kill or harm my yeast\brew.

The actual ingredients (bare with me as these names are long and i'm typing it exactly as it appears on the box as I have no idea what it means.)

Natriumdichlorisocyanurat Dicholoroisocyanurate de Sodium - DCCNa 4,5 mg
Silver Ions - Ag+ 0,1 mg

you just pop 1 tablet in 1 litre of water and leave it for 2 hours before drinking.

Would these be ok to use?

if its only 5L, why not boil/cool it and then add it? that way you won't have to worry about adding any nasties which may inhibit yeast growth.

wetwired no do not use those tablets.

anything you add to water is not going to make it any more pure.

plus, sodium dichloroisocyanurate is a disinfectant. do you want disinfectant in your brew?...

Nope don't use those. I've had them from camping and hiking and have tried them in tap water. You can taste them. Besides, they're expensive.

Boil and cool the water if it's a problem. If you just need the chlorine out of the water, fill your boil pot the night before and just leave it; the chlorine will mostly (entirely?? not sure) evaporate. I remember being told once how long it takes for the chlorine to evaporate out of water but as if I can remember...

Those tablets are for 'purifying' water when you are camping/travelling.

They do the same think as your local water supply company does and chlorinate your water.

Your tap water is already chlorinated so either use that or others have said, if you want to be anal, boil then cool.
