im doing a brew this arvo and was going to use some rice to thin it out a bit, never used rice before, got it cooking now.
just a quick question to make sure, is it the dry weight or the cooked weight that you put into your recipe?
i'm assuming its the dry? but i just want to make sure before i start

cheers,

Stewart

I was going to ask that too! From that other thread i gather its the dry weight of the rice. Another question- once the rice is cooked, you chuck it into the mash, water and all? I assume the water it was cooked in would be pretty important?

As with grain, measure the dry weight. I have done this and ended up within my efficiency target range.

cheers mate, just about to start the mash ;)

dry weight, cook the arse out of it if p[ossible and dump directly into the mash. you may have to compensate for temperature but thats about it. If you're feeling adventerous you can step into the world of cereal mashing on your next one. ;)
