Light dry malt rock hard - use?

Hi

Someone gave a bag of light dry malt - old hard as a rock. Put in the stove to boil and soften… seems ok .. doesn’t taste off, just tastes a bit like sugar but not over sweet.. which I think it would normally be like, I can’t see malt going off sealed in a bag.
Also a few tins of homebrew couple of years out of date, I’m sure fine, nothing to loose anyway..

I’ll give it a go, any thoughts?

Fresh is best. I think the spray malt is good for ever if sanitary. Tin's could go south. I would give it a go.

It's fine. It will dissolve. Never been a problem for me.

Ditto, it'll be fine. I found some packed away that was over six years old. Still dry but rock hard. It brewed obsoletely fine.
