Last year I happened to be in Melbourne with the car while G&G had their 20% off sale. I grabbed a load of stuff naturally, including a few kegs. It was only once I got home and unloaded that I noticed the weird post on one of the kegs. I didn't know how to get the post off to replace the rubbers, so the keg has been sitting in the corner of the shed for a year. Anyone know what kind of tool I need? It looks like a flower with too many petals.

A 22cm ring spanner works for me on those ones too.
On the ones that are really tight I then try and tube spanner as it is easier to get some more leverage on them.

wow.. a 22cm ring spanner would fit around the entire keg =)

I'd stick with the 22mm :D :D

Ah yeah.
The 22cm is for holding the keg, while you use a 22mm ring spanner to remove the post :p

Thanks guys. I'm sure this is knowledge that should be encoded in my DNA. Can I blame MTV or Youtube for this?

Add it to the wiki on kegs/kegerators ?

You can use a 7/8" or a 22mm. Pics here:
