VB was originally brewed as an ale, it was dramatically changed in the 70's (style, logo, advertising) when Fosters flopped in Aus and CUB needed a new flagship brew. Remember they are brewing millions of liters at a time, and its a business. Why use hundreds of kilo's of hops and malt, when they can use extracts and adjuncts for 1/10th the price. They are not made to be drunk by the thoughtful, they are made to be drunk by people who DON'T CARE!

Most people couldnt give a rats arse if it was an ale or lager, nor would they know the difference. As long as it gets them pissed, and its something they know, theyll drink it.

If you don't like it go move to Afghanistan or some place.

yeah, cos we're not as bad as them!

Since when did comparing ourselves to someone elses worse make our own bad things better?

Yep.

Most people who drink the stuff (VB etal) couldn't give a rats arse what it tastes like, so long as it fits the brand.

Remembera story froma tour of CUB Abbotsford mentioning that sales dropped, and complaints increased when they changed the packaging on VB.
