I'm thinking of brewing a Berliner Weisse in the next couple of months.

The recipe I found suggests using Tettenang as a first wort addition. Saaz is suggested as a substitute. As Summer is a variant of Saaz do you think I'm crazy in using it for this beer?

I'd like to keep it to 5 IBU, so obviously I'm not going to use too much of it anyway.

5 IBU you could probably use anything. And I dare say in a Berliner weisse you wouldn't pick up any hop character at all.

Summer and saaz are really nothing alike but given the fruittyness of the hops and of berlinner weisse I'd say it would be great.
