Couldn’t find any definitive word on this so thought I’d pitch it to you guys: would storing a stainless steel sintered oxygenation 0.5micron stone in 90% ethanol be a viable way to store it?
Trying to save myself the effort of boiling before use every single brew and instead just putting the clean stone straight into a solution of 90% ethanol solution
I imagine penetration would be good to kill all the nasties and being ethanol could go straight from solution into wort no problems. Any conflicting thoughts?
Cheers
Nb: ethanol sourced through duty free from overseas (obtained legally)

Interesting, I thought the same but ended up getting a 70% solution to do a quick spray/soak before using. I always wash immediately and air dry so I haven't bothered keeping in a solution.

Actually 70% Ethanol/water is a better bactericide than is 90%. It also evaporates slower and costs less... just make sure you are using water that is deaired and has no minerals.
I just put a small bottle of pure water in the microwave, heat to a boil then close the lid until needed. Mostly used for calibrating SG meters, brix meters, refractometers and the like.
Oh I'm not suggesting you boil the ethanol in the microwave - just the water - could get very entertaining if you boil alcohol!

I just boil mine for a while and then spray with starsan before each use.

After use I rinse it off in water while blowing 02 through it. and then spray it with starsan.
