Ok I am thinking perhaps I need to get a bit more crazy on my keg cleaning. Currently I just hose out and then put 2 tbsp of beer line cleaner in along with a kettle of boiling water (1.5L). Shake the ***** out of it periodically for 30 mins. After that I rinse and fill.
Just tried some bottled beer from a batch that has a strange although not overpoweringly awful taste in the keg. Had a comment that it could be diacytl but the bottled version does not have the taste. So I suspect it could be a minor infection? Never had a problem in the previous 10 or so kegs filled?
Maybee the bottled beer just tastes different due to conditioning... who knows but I would be interested to hear how you all clean & sterilise your kegs.
