I've ended up with 28l of wort before boil at 1.045, basically I'm 1.5l to much and should be at 1.050 before boil. Boil just started and plan was 90min, should boil for 120 instead?

Maybe not 120, but boil extra for sure. Work out what percentage of your hourly boil off 1.5l is then add that to your boil time.

I just wing it. I boil each run off at a time and this gets through hot break safer in stages instead of one big froth up. I have a pre boil maximum of 55lt. Final boil should be at 44lt. That's to get 38-40lt yield. This takes time. My brew day isn't about breaking speed records. I brew 90 minute boils from when I start the timer after all the batch sparge additions are boiling.
Hope that helped.

Cheers all

Doubting my calcs now? Meant to end up with 1.057
This sound right?
My first brew in 3 yrs and probably rushed in a bit lol

Just need to know the post boil volume to work it out.

To get to your target FG of 1.057 you will need to boil off 6L for a final volume of 22L.

Got some DME or sugar lying around? You could throw some of either in to get your gravity up a bit.

Yeah using brewmate or that new one that looks same

Checked after 30min and it was 1.050

1hr boil and 2l evaporated

A said I'll wing it and keep notes and adjust next time
