Hey Guys, Riz here,
Got a few extract brews under my belt, thought it was time i experimented with some hops.
would love a few quick thoughts on this.

was hoping to do as big a batch as possible about 33L, any reasons i should stick to 23L?

Ingredients:
1.7kg Coopers Aussie Pale Tin
1kg 50/50 (0.5kg LME + .5kg Dext) (from Grape and grain)

Got a 80g Galaxy Pellets (13.9%AA) bag so:

20g Galaxy Pellets (20min Boil)
20g Galaxy Pellets (10min Boil)
20g Galaxy Pellets (2min Boil)
20g Galaxy Pellets (Dry hopped 2 days later)

US-05 Yeast

Main question being, will upping the water from 23L to 33L make it too thin, (aka not have much/enough body).
also will the Galaxy be way too strong? i have heard they are hella potent...
would be stoked if it was similar in Hoppyness to S+W Pacific Ale

From what I know 33 L would be thin, probably another can if you want that amount, cheers

yeah cool thanks TrustyRusty,
i figured that would be the case. might chuck in another can. ill see how i go..

It will be a light beer. Do you have software? If not I just plugged in into beersmith out of curiosity.
This is the result:
OG = 1.025
Bitterness = 36.3 IBU.
Color = 5.2 ebc
est Alv/vol = 2.8%

I make the can+kilo at 19lt to get the 4.7% range. 23lt (on can instructions) will still fall short of that. To get 33 liters at that range it seems you need the 1 can+ 2kg Dry malt + 1kg Dextrose. That hits the ~30IBU mark that your looking for with the Gallaxy.
I'd bet it would be a really nice beer too. At 4.7% ABV.
That would be my choice rather than using another can.

Stay at 23litres, use your sugar mix, use the 10 minute and dry hop addition only but dry hop day 5, let sit 4 days then bottle if ready or remove dry hops and wait to bottle.
Adjust on your next brew to your taste.

A little citra with your galaxy is yummo.....but not necessary.
