Brewed this a few weeks ago, turned out to be the best beer I've made so far. Loosely based around the Nail Red Ale grain and hop bill.

Double Dry Hopped.

One kg of Carared is interesting.
How sweet was the finished beer?

Using the amount of hops balanced it out nicely, and Us05 yeast attenuated well allowing for the hops to come through. I can't recommend trying this beer enough.

If the carared wasn't in there in that quantity, you wouldn't be able to tell it was a red, I think it is mainly due to the us05

You get the red from Roast Barley ( in very small amounts )and dark Xtal like Carraoma..etc..

Carared is a bit misleading as it is only a mild Xtal malt

carared is misleading for colour, however he does have 4.6% of cararoma, that combined will make the beer red.

I kept forgetting to take a photo. I have one fermenting now I'll put one of it up soon!

The last one I changed the grain bill slightly and increased IBUs slightly:

A couple of pics of my latest version. Original version grain bill but added more Vic Secret to the dry hop as well.

Truly a magic beer.

Going to try with WLP005 next. Hopefully turns out great :)

WLP005 will make for a very different beer than US-05. A much better one in this case I reckon.

I hope so. I made a Dr. Smurto's English IPA using WLP005 recently. Two thumbs up. I will let you know how the red goes with it.

Do you think I should drop the xtal a bit if I change the yeast?

Yeah, the carared is for the biscuity flavour I wanted in there, the colour is from the caraaroma. I thought about adding roast barley to make it a bit redder. Might in a future brew.

Edited out references to illegal activity. Homebrew is a great gift. Please don't bring it into disrepute.
