I have a typical recirculating system :-

I'm using a spray head to return the wort to the top of the mash

It works, but I always wonder if there is any thing better than the spray maybe a bit of tube with split sides or ????

I'd really appreciate it if you could post up your thoughts or suggestions.

Thanks. Aamcle

I use a length of thick walled silicone hose looped back to a copper T section (just soldered T with a small length in each section). Holes drilled in top and hose rests on top of mash - it's kind of semi-bouyant so it just rests on top of the grain bed with holes pointing upwards. Going strong for about 4 years now and works really well. Can slide up and down to position as required.. rebuilding my whole HERMS rig soon to incorporate everything I've learned over the last few years but this re-cric head will stay:

Perhaps a piece of copper tube with the ends flattened and small holes drilled in it then fixed to the underside of the lid.
Or a length wtih one end flattened ,drilled then fixed to the lid in a probe like fashion, just short of the depth of the pot.
The probe would recirc through the guts or the mash.
