Mammoth Strong Pale Lager

Brewer's Notes

1.7kg Coopers LME is The Coopers International Euro Lager kit
Packet yeast... yep kit yeast -fermented at 17C
Use 11.5g W34/70 if fermenting below 12C
Mash 60C x 60min + 65C x 30min + 68C x 30 mins
Sparge with 3L @ 70C
Boil for 20 mins Add floc & Add Kit & LME & bring back to boil
Start hops
Chill with ice & wort chillier
Dry hop in 5 days last 15g Spalt
Also I used Yeast Food not DAP- this helps this lager to ferment out to FG 1014

0.5 kg Weyermann Vienna
1.7 kg Coopers LME - Light
1.5 kg Muntons LME - Extra Light

20 g Pearle (Pellet, 8.0AA%, 6mins)
15 g Spalter (Pellet, 4.5AA%, 0mins)
15 g Spalter (Pellet, 4.5AA%, 0mins)

Misc

1 tsp Yeast Nutrient
0.5 tablet Whirfloc
22L Batch Size

Brew Details

  • Original Gravity 1.068 (calc)
  • Final Gravity 1.022 (calc)
  • Bitterness 3.9 IBU
  • Efficiency 78%
  • Alcohol 5.97%
  • Colour 9 EBC

Fermentation

  • Primary 14 days
  • Conditioning 6 days
 
Very pale brew, I think more ingredients will be required.

na my fault i hadnt finished recipe when it got posted :blink:
 
Not your fault - a fault in the db. Whenever a brew appears but is obviously light on, people should wait before commenting.
