Hi all,

Anyone use one of these plug-in thermostat controllers on their fermenting fridge/freezer:

http://shop.ebay.com.au/items/_W0QQ_sopZ12...ksid=m270.l1313

I've an old chest freezer I'm looking to use for fermenting and don't want to modify it's thermostat so hence the need for an external one.

Any feedback/opinions appreciated.

cheers,

M

mostly people are using STC 1000 type of device.. cheap and good.

Good luck

[edit] the problem with the device you have posted is that it will only controll 1 device, the STC and similare devices control both HOT and COLD so you can maintain temps in both directions.

The issue will be whether or not it has a compressor delay. The most commonly used controllers on here (Tempmate, Fridgemate etc) have an adjustable compressor delay. This helps to stop you burning out the compressor by switching it on/off too fast.
