POL,

Firstly I know that you'll be greatly embarrassed by such a thread but that is your misfortune ;)

I've just been having a beer with Kai and, like me and many others, he reckons you make not only a real but a huge difference to AHB.

I've been thinking on this thread for ages and have fallen down in my communications with you on my thinking on it. I get worried that I can't give you the credit you deserve and let's face it, I can't.

POL, you, unlike me and many others, steadfastly look after the new brewers on the forum. You are the one that sent me a PM and got me immediately brewing a drinkable beer. I have never seen you post incorrect advice and how many posts have you done?

As you well know, I am a brewer of many words  but when it comes to you, I'm buggered! You have me gob-smacked in the best of ways. How you put up with my naive and sometimes challenging communications in my early days has me perplexed! I was a fool but you never ever treated me like one.

I think the only thin I can say is that if there was one person that was responsible for me not giving up home-brewing a third time and who can now brew a beer that they really like, then it was you.

Anyway I don't think you get thanked anywhere near as much as you should and because you look after new brewers so well maybe you never will as they might, in their excitement, just forget how important you have really been.

I won't though.

All the best to you Pint,
Pat
