Yeah, I didn't scroll the page or I would have seen the date. Even if they did stock it now it would probably cost a fair bit more these days.

Man, this is hard with all the refreshing and counter posting.

At the moment there is 11 of us:

Not to worry boddingtons, your were on my list. As I said above, if there are more people interested, then I'll see what I can do. Still post your name if you are interested. Will probably cap it on the interest list at around 15 or so all up. I dont want to keep hassling the sales guy at the club.

Just for anyone thinking about getting this book, i have a copy and this is what the recipe's actually look like:

85. Amber Ale (1823) Brewing Books, Cobb & Co., Margate

OG 81

Popular Amber Ale Recipe

2 lb 10 oz Pale Malt
1 1/4 lb Amber Malt
1.45oz Fuggles

Mature 4-5 months

82 Dark Amber Ale (1812) Memoranda Books, Cobb & Co. Margate

OG 76

A brown ale to die for.

3 lb 5 oz Pale Amber Malt
3.4 Oz Brown Malt
2 1/4 oz Fuggles

Mature for 7-8 Months

That looks very familiar to me, I'm sure I've seen this before. Probably a bit thin on details that would be of much use to Australian brewers. My 2c

There have been posts about this book and similar recipes in the past. Was reading them in the early hours of this morning which got me on to the book. I think you may have read them there. It was something to do with Doc and his plans to brew an historical beer.

Bucket of ale malt
Sprinkle of burnt malt
Some Fuggles
Brew with Good Heavy Ale yeast
Finish with Brett.
Leave it...

Leave it...

Step away from the brew...

Stoppit!!!

Drink.

What do I win?

Geeez.... is there some good pictures Rob...???

Nope none, I'll lend it to ya when I pop around for a beer.

OT. sorry.
sounds good... sunday maybe...

There is enough detail in the book to brew the recipes that are in it.

All recipes IIRC are for 1 gallon of beer so remember to scale up. I have only brewed one beer so far from the book and am more than happy with the outcome.

I rate all "good" brewing books by how often I read them whilst taking a dump... The Durden book gets a good workout.

Definitely too much information there, Warren.

Can I take back my order now.

Alright, I am going to say 15 is the max people, so only space for 1 more.

I have asked the guy about the postage for 15 but he is yet to get back me. Will post more info when I have it.
