I ended up buying one of these cooktops, 3100 watt induction, has 200 watt increments.
i like it alot, didnt want to stuff around with elements etc, this is plug and play.
it only heats the sandwich base of the pot, the cooker itself remains cool, after the boil you
can lift off the pot and put your hand on the cooktop. also there is no excess heat escaping
like with gas, makes for a cooler brewing enviroment. in pic i have my 36 litre pot ontop of it.
gets to boil pretty quick, usually i take 30 mins batch sparging, 10-15 mins after last runnings,
its boiling, back off to 2900 watts for rest of boil. its a great bit of gear .. :icon_cheers:
