i have been thinking that the pvc mash manifold i use has a feature that may or may not be useful,

it is a standard pvc waterpipe about 35 cm long, 15 cm wide, it has the usual slots cut into it about every 5 ml.

nothing unusual about that design but when i mash i pull a piece of HAM CLOTH stretched over the entire manifold, this is a fine cloth we use for hanging our leg hams in while we smoke and cook them in our smoke oven at work.

probably simialar to the cloth some of you guys use for BIAB,.

it seems to work really well.
when mash is done i empty out the spent grain ,hose out the mash tun then pull off the cloth cover, just slides on and off as it stretches really well.

once its all clean i put about 4 liters of clean water in the mash tun with some of my sterilizer shake it around and leave it soaking the tun until next time.

the ham cloth i just wash it out in the sink, rinse and hang out to dry.
anyone used this method before, or see any drawbacks with it.
