Hi Guys,

I'm stuck for ideas and have been getting bored with hoppy hoppy beers (LCBA/ Golden Ales), I enjoy andrewqld pale clone. this brew i would like a beer with a good malt profile and less reliant on flame out hops.

Any ideas welcome, brewing a batch tomorrow so time is running out :(

I did a clone brew from the brew your own 250 clone recipes which turned out really good. It was called red tail ale and it was a partial mash -
Ingredients for a 23L batch

1.85kg Pale ale malt
250g Biscuit
100g Meduim crystal
1.5kg LME Light
500g Dextrose
11g Magnum 14%AA (60mins)
8g Cluster 7.9%AA (60mins)
15g Cascade 7.5%AA (30mins)
6g Cascade 7.5%AA (0mins)
Yeast US-05

Very nice malt profile I will do this again. Might make it regular brew

TBH have a fullers esb clone show which is well worth a listen if you're interested (it's quite hoppy though), I won't rehash the recipe but it's pretty similar to those above.

Pretty sure he means The Brewing Network. Anyway the second recipe I posted above is the Fuller's ESB Clone they did on that show... albeit slightly tweaked to my system etc.

http://thebrewingnetwork.com/shows/632 - first show
http://thebrewingnetwork.com/shows/692 - rebrew show

I thought it looked similar argon, but don't they only do a 60m, 3m and dry hop addition? I'm sure the brewer and the interviewer mention they do 2 dry hop additions, in fermentation and then maturation. But the recipe only had 1 addition, a bit confusing.

From memory when Jamil re-does the recipe he talks about the whirlpool and how on a homebrew scale he counts that as a 15 min addition. I'm pretty sure that's why I entered it in beersmith like that...could be wrong, was a while ago i listened to it. Often the clone recipe does not resemble closely what the brewery tells them.
