A while ago I boldly contacted Murrays asking for the Punk Monk recipe. I full expected to get ignored or told where to go but Shawn got back to me and gave me some general tips as to how I might make my own version of the delicious (and dangerous) beer.

I was just wondering if anyone has an idea as to how many IBU's it has. My guess is 15 -20 but its less than educated. Mr Google failed to come to the party either.

What were his general tips?

@ 20 ibus your in the ball park for all the Belgian styles. Good starting point.

Pilsner dominated grist with malted and raw wheat.
Low mash.
Late nz hops.
Feed the ferment with Belgian candy sugar.

Cheers for that. I'll give it a go.

You should try the monk, it's really nice.

Very interested in this, was devastated when i went to the brewery that they didn't have it on tap. Let us know what you come up with!
