So the can of goop and a kilo of dex/malt? Maybe add some finishing hops for more flavour or more malt for a bit more body. Also can reduce the final volume if you want to increase body.

I am beginning to appreciate some maltodextrine aka corn syrup in the beer. Its cheap and gives the beer more mouthfeel.

If your trying to get a 'Tooheys Old'ish recipe you could try:

1. Place 200g of light crystal malt and 100g of choc malt in a pot
2. Add 1L of 70deg water (700mL of boiling water, 300mL of cold tap water), put the lid on and steep for half an hour.
3. Strain the 'juice' into a big pot and pour another 1L of 70degC water through the grain into the big pot.
4. Bring your 2L of 'juice' up to the boil and let it boil for about 10min
5. Chuck in 10g of POR or Goldings hops and boil for another 5-10 min
6. Strain into your fermenter and add your Morgans Old tin and 1kg of light dry malt (you could also use Coopers English Bitter tin and a tin of Coopers Amber malt)
7. Make upto 23L and ferment at 17-18degC with US-05
