Hoppy! Almost crosses into dark IPA territory, but there's enough roasty dark goodness to bring it back to brown-town. Any craft beer geek would be happy to drink this one.
This coming from THE craft beer geek!

I gotta agree though. Nick's brew was quite excellent.

Visually impressive, from the "Suggestive Saison" label to the hazy pinky-orange colour of the beer. This isn't a sticky lolly framboise or a Gambrinus-style sour - it's a solid Frenchish saison with a subtle dash of berry flavour. Perfect for a summer's day.

It certainly is sensual, my girlfriend liked it too. Dry and subtle for a Saison with delicate aroma. Berry hit works nicely. I am keen to brew this beer. Thanks Mattias!

side note, I believe pres and Tim received the lucky half pints. I suspect they'll be less bubbly than others.

Fyi; Some hard mint candy at the 15 minute mark, some fresh mint at whirlpool, and fresh mint dry hopped for about 5 days...

I heard they got shat on by birds as well - some guys get all the luck! :p

Sounds pretty minty, Declan. Curious to taste the degree of mintiness(!) and how it blends in with the malt. It'll be my first mint beer :-D

4. Forever Wort - Mongrel Saison - Very nice, Luke. Very refreshing and easily drinkable, Nice clovey spiceyness. Looks like the Yarra, but tastes a lot better!

Long weekend so will be tasting a few tonight

7. Swedebeer - Raspberry Session Saison

Great aroma! nice carbonation, fruity taste, dry finish. Really enjoyed it!

Just had Carnie's Hefe. :) Nicely balanced little brew; I loved the hint of banana in the smell. Great summer drinkin'!

5. Carnie - Frau Farbissina Hefeweizen

Pale, nice hefe cloudiness. Big phenolic aroma and flavour. Laces nicely. I'd like a little more banana, but that's a minor subjective nitpick (cf Tim's post). A lot of Aussie breweries seem to struggle to make a decent hefe - the Pres should market his services as a consultant.

9. Declan - Choc Mint Stout (Filled from keg, drink now/soonish)

Great minty smell with a roasty/chocolate back bone. Tastes nice, the mint really comes through followed by the roasted/dark chocolate notes with a firm bitterness. really clean beer letting the mint and malt do its thing. A nice drop to let sit and warm. Would be great matched with dessert. Really like the way you got that mint flavour in, cool skills.

Only issue for me was that there was very little carbonation, could have been a bit more. There was no/little head as well, probably due to lack of carbonation. (see picture)

Overall a really well made beer. Great work Declan!!!

Dove's Berliner Weisse,

It's an absolute cracker of a beer! To me it's a textbook Berliner Weisse and it makes me realise again why it's becoming my favorite style of beer. Good job mate!

10. Brouhaha - Summer cherry porter

Smells like a slightly roasty Cherry Ripe. Not the headiest beer in the world. Beautiful integration of fruit with the dark malts - it's smooth and dark with a subtle fruity tang. Reminds me of krieks and dark Belgians at the same time, but with that crisp clean porter profile underneath. Liking this a lot.

9. Declan - Choc Mint Stout

Love the minty Aroma. Nice and malty. Very little carbonation but enjoyed it.

7. Swedebeer - Raspberry Session Saison (Drink Now)

Enjoyed this a lot!! Just how I like fruit beers, a beer first with hint of fruit flavour rather than a sweet fruity drink pretending to be a beer. A great tart saison with a nice smell and taste of raspberries. Very drinkable.

Really well made beer. Great job Mattais!!

Notes from last night

10. Brouhaha - Summer cherry porter

Loved it. Nice aroma, nice smooth clean porter. Great mouthfeel. Slight fruity taste.

5. Carnie - Frau Farbissina Hefeweizen

Loved this too. Slight banana and estery taste. Great carbonation. Wish I was drinking this earlier in the day outside in the sun :)

1. Nick (aka vanners) - American Brown Ale

Weird, no one else has reported it, maybe it was just my bottle but something was wrong, all I could taste was metallic like a bunch coins :/ sorry man

My bottle was superb, no metallic taste at all. Hopefully just a one off!

12 - NewGuy Tim's Mornington IPA clone. Best of the one's I've tried so far (despite me just reading it's not meant to be ready until 11/12). It's bloody gorgeous mate! As good as any professionally brewed IPA I've tried.
