OK case swappers, here is the thread to leave feedback on the case swap beers. Please leave helpful, honest and constructive feedback on the beers.

Also, please let us know any information that people may need about when best to drink the beers that wasn't included in Luke's pamphlet.

My beer (1) was bottled from the keg so that can go straight in the fridge and is to best to drink it sooner rather than later.

Did many others bottle from their kegs? as I'll chuck these straight in the fridge...

My #5 was bottle conditioned, but being a hefe you might as well get onto it early. Just remember that if you like your hefeweizen served traditionally (as I do), give the bottle a good swirl before/during the pour to get all that 3068 goodness in there with it. If you prefer it more clear, just let it sit in the fridge for a week and be careful while pouring.

I thought it might be best to have everyone attach a "Drink After" date to their entry on the list, or a "Drink Now" label. And also say what the beer is if you haven't already:

Drinking Dove's berliner weisse at the moment. Damn man, that's a tasty brew! Really great sourness and a crisp citrusy hop flavour. Possibly slightly under carbed but that might change with a little more time. Awesome work Dove.

Edit: At 3% it's a perfect work beer, usually my 4pm beers lead to a couple of hours work that needs to be re-done the next day ;)

Tasting number 2. The president remains the Merri Mashers Hefeweizen master, perfect yeast/malt balance. A little clove and a little banana but really well balanced. A lot of brewers go over the top with the esters on their hefs. The pres nailed it. Nice work.

Started with #1, naturally. Loved it! Nice and nutty roastyness, balanced nicely with a warmth that went well on a rainy night.

3. Wolfman IPA. Very fruity flavours, more like they're from hops than esters. Quite a sessionable IPA. Very nice.

9. Declan - Choc Mint Stout. Quite liked this. At first thought the mint was quite subtle, then swirled it and had a smell and thought the smell was a bit much. Then I saw how it brought a kind of distinctive spiciness to it that gave the drink a real dessert quality and REALLY started getting into it. Then my head started spinning. Then the glass was empty. Damn!

Quite liked this one. The gentle carbonation was good, too. I like big beers with low carbonation - makes them more like a high alcohol wine or liquor, somehow. The acid created by the dissolved carbon dioxide can be a bit of a distraction, flavour wise.

Great beer!

Would also love to know how Declan got the mintiness into this brew...

1. Nick (aka vanners) - American Brown Ale

Nice balance of hops and malt. I get a bit of raisin chocolate?

Great beer mate.

10. Nathan's cherry porter. Beautiful easy drinking well balanced porter. It's got a great aroma full of chocolate and cherry. Taste is really clean. Carbonation good for the style. Diggin this brew mate! Cheers!

This was the first I tried also. Delicious beer. I agree that it's very clean, it's definitely not a hardcore fruit beer, more like a smooth-ass porter with a bouquet of cherry. Very nice to drink in bed with a good book before bed.

:beerbang:

Aw, shucks. Thanks guys glad you enjoyed it. I've got Mattias' brew chillin for tonight. I just had Kev's ESB which was great. I loved that it had a malty english backbone but with some spicy, citrusy US hops in the finish. It was really nice. And mine was well carbonated, I know Kev was a little worried about that.

Well thank you kindly. Appreciate the appreciation. Still going on the Wolfman brew myself tonight. Enjoying it.

Hoppy! Almost crosses into dark IPA territory, but there's enough roasty dark goodness to bring it back to brown-town. Any craft beer geek would be happy to drink this one.
