Good Evening Men,

For those of you who are using converted kegs with weldless taps, I would like some advice as to what washers you are using. I have used hot water washers at the advice of my girlfriends dad, however I don't think they were rated for 70 degree water at extended periods. The first brew I was going to put down in my newly converted keg ended up leaking and I decided to can the brew day.

So, what do you use for your washers/ o rings?

Cheers,

Clint

Just grab high temp washers from the sponsors. Have them on all my weldless gear no leaks and can handle the boil no worries.

i also use silicon baking tray that i got from the $2 shop , and cut up my own custom ones....
When used in conjuction with some large ss washes ,and nuts, they are gold !
Cheers

+1 on using silicone and large ss washers. Mine seals nicely with one on either side of the vessel wall.

I got silicon washers with my sockets. 1 of them busted & got replaced with a cut off bit of silicon hose with a hole cut in it. I keep things pretty fancy here.

FYI, tap water (without a thermostat on the hot water system) can be up to 75 degrees so something rated for plumbing with hot water should be OK at that temp.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to grab the washers from Craft brewer and probably pickup some other stuff while I'm there.
