As a long time kit brewer who is now too long in the tooth to got to anything more complex I recently did a Mangrove Jack pouch of Northern Bitter, no embellishment and just as the instructions say. I have to say that it does what it says on the tin (pouch?).
A decent English Bitter (the bloke in the shop didn't know the answer to "is that Northern England or Northern Queensland "? which made me chuckle)
As a fairly long time resident of the land of the Pom I got more than just a taste for English Bitter and it's now virtually all I make, so ...
1: I can recommend this kit, and
2. It's made for Mangrove Jack in the UK, does anyone know which brewers make it for them?

I can also recommend Cooper's English Bitter and Morgan's Amber Ale. They all hit the mark for me especially as Woodfordes and Muntons kits are becoming hard to come by or overly expensive.

Good to know, I don't mind the Coopers English bitter myself, going to the brew shop today so I might give this one a crack.

how long too age the coopers bitter? used to be 3 months minimum for original series

Coopers English Bitter - my verdict if brewed to instructions is don't do this!
Sure t's not bad, but not good either, & I am a coopers fan generally.
There may of course be ways of improving. maybe use 1.5 cans ......
