Hi everyone,
Just a quick question I am in the process of collecting all my equipment for my AG Setup. I have an oppertunity to pick up a 30lt Roban Urn to use to heat my water lauter tun. I was going to go for a bigger one ie th 40lt urn.

I think the 30lt will be fine

Any thoughts.

Cheers
Archie :p

i use a 30ltr - but a 40ltr would be better.
But make sure it is a 10amp 40ltr.

I think I am going to be able to pick up the 30lt Roban for under $100 so i think i might get this one and make do as it would be around $150 for an extra 10 litres bugger that

Why do you need an element in a lauter tun? Surely you don't need one with that 20L Bunnings cooler you're using as a mashtun.. just use the cooler as a MLT rather than have a separate lauter tun.

I am going to use it as a kettle is what i meant. So ill be able to heat the amount of water i need at once.
I should read my posts better before i post them shouldnt i haha
one to many beers

I will be using my Bunnings cooler as a MLT and hopefully if i get the Roban urn will use that as my kettle

Cheers NRB

If you're going AG and planning for the future, buy as big as you can possibly afford. 40L minimum would be my bet. I prefer to use a large pot (>50L) and fire with gas, but that's just me :)

So you're going to use the urn as an HLT and a kettle?
