Topic title sums it up.......I'm out of Amarillo and have some Galaxy.......workable?

While you're all listening. I'm not doing a secondary so will dry into primary. Docs recipe calls for 2 weeks in secondary. So should I dry hop for two weeks or (as I have read some people do), dry hop with one week to go?

Thanks in advance

Chris

Definitely workable Chris. I find the galaxy has some sweetness about it when dry hopping. How much will you use? If it's a lot perhaps dry hop and then check flavour after 3-4 days. You don't want it to taste grassy. I dry hopped with it for a few weeks earlier this year but it was at 10 degrees.

What Razz said. Try 1g/l and check around 3-4-5 days. Don't leave it too long though or it will taste like lawn clippings.

Excellent

Brew has been fermenting for about 2 weeks which is when it could go into secondary...but as I said, not doing that. Might leave it a week and then dry hop with one week to go...check after 3 days and remove when flavour is as is should be.

i've got a galaxy dry hopped DSGA in a keg right now... it's reserved for an upcoming event and i'm struggling not to drink it... dammned tasty!

i did 1g/L after 10 days, for 4 days before CC for a week. all in primary.

Galaxy is always better than Amarillo IMHO....... :chug:

Thats what I'm drinking ATM, tastes great. I only did 15g in 23L batch for 4 days, I would do 25g next time though.
